Data Archive

Data Archives retain information over time often preserving a view of a given moment within a database. As opposed to data backups, the purpose of data archiving is not centered around preventing data loss.
Data that is archival can provide views of changes within entities and records over time. Additionally, data archives are commonly compiled for data retention requirements of organizations.
While users can store extractions from Diffbot products including the Knowledge Graph™, Crawly, or extraction APIs, effectively giving themselves an archival view of entities over time, Diffbot’s web extraction and parsing technologies essentially provide a “live view” of the web based on the most recent call. Some aspects such as the “is current” value relating to employers of person entities within the Knowledge Graph do retain a chronology of sorts.
